Passover is a wonderful opportunity to come together with family and friends, to retell the story of the Exodus from Egypt and connect to our history as a people.
We offer special educational programming leading up to the holiday and we host a Community Seder on the 2nd night, including an online option for those who are not able or prefer not to drive at night.
In addition to Yom Tov services at the beginning of the holiday and on Shabbat Chol ha-Omed (the intermediary Shabbat), we hold morning services on Zoom each day and a Yizkor service on the 7th day.

DO YOU HAVE OTHER PASSOVER QUESTIONS?
Email Rabbi Finkelstein at if you have questions or need resources.
Each year, it is tradition for a young child to ask in the four questions, “Why is this night different from all other nights?” The question is the invitation to tell the story of Passover and the exodus from Egypt. The Passover Seder is different from other nights, because God redeemed us from slavery and now, we are free. Each year is nothing familiar and different. While our world is being challenged with conflicts, Israel continues to be in the middle of a war, and we in America are facing rising levels of antisemitism, Passover reminds us that our people have persevered. As our ancestors were redeemed from Egyptian bondage, we too will emerge from our current difficulties. Our Passover traditions, both recent and ancient, connect us to our history as we share ancient stories and more recent family lore about this holiday. Indeed, that is the meaning of Passover.
This year, the first night of Passover falls on Wednesday evening, April 1. The Search for Chametz is held the preceding night, Tuesday, March 31st. The Siyum for the First born will be held on Wednesday morning April 1st at 7:30 a.m. on Zoom following morning services. All Chametz must be sold bt 9:00 a.m. Wednesday morning April 1st.
Every Year brings new questions about Passover preparations and foods. I am always available to answer any questions. A full guide for Passover preparation may be found at https://www.rabbinicalassembly.org/jewish-law/holidays/pesah. The guide includes instructions about Passover foods and making your home Kosher for Passover.
In addition to not eating chametz on Passover, we are not allowed to own any chametz on the holiday. Our rabbis recognized that we all have some chametz that we will not be able to consume before Passover and we can turn over ownership of these items to a non-Jew by selling it through an authorized rabbi. I have enclosed a Sale of Chametz form that authorizes me to sell your chametz for the duration of Passover.
Please remember to MAIL or EMAIL your Sale of Chametz forms to me to be received no later than Tuesday, March 31st at 5:00 p.m. If you send it by mail, please email or call (201)410-0023 me to let me know that it is coming. It is customary to make a donation when selling your chametz. These funds are used for communal needs.
With wishes for Happy and Kosher Passover,
Rabbi Joshua S. Finkelstein
