Shabbat Shalom!

Torah Question of the Week: “Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.” Where have you seen this play out in your own life? This week’s Torah portion details the expiatory sacrifices that must be brought for forgiveness from inadvertent or unintentional sinning, and specifically the religious and secular leaders of the community: the Kohein Gadol (High Priest), the elders of the community and the chieftains. Just as we see in local, national and international politics, our Torah notes that leaders (regularly?!) sin inadvertently. Why do you think this is so? What can be done about it?

Tonight’s Kabbalat Shabbat service is our Women’s League Shabbat at 8:00 p.m. following our wonderful Culinary Institute Shabbat Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tomorrow Shabbat Morning service begins at 9:30 a.m. Both services are multi-access: in person and on Zoom.  To register to come in person, please go to https://tinyurl.com/TBAY-Shabbat. The Zoom links can be found in the Shabbat Preview. Shabbat Shalom!
