Torah Question of the Week: Is tzedakah a part of your normal routine? How do you give tzedakah? Do you give money or items (food, clothes, etc.) or both? In this week’s Torah portion, we are commanded to leave the gleanings of our harvest and not to harvest all the way to the edges of our fields so that we can leave that food for the poor to come and collect themselves. How can you make it possible for the poor to access the gleanings of your harvest and the edges of your fields if you are not a farmer?
