Shalom TBAY!

Wondering what we discussed this past Shabbat? Here is a link to Friday Night’s D’Var Torah by Dov Ben-Shimon, CEO of Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest. And if you would like to watch Dov delivering this D’Var Torah, you can do so here. We are very grateful to Dov for coming! Hapy Centennial to Jewish Federation and thank you for all you do for the Jewish community – here, in Israel and around the world! We also want to acknowledge our local scouts for helping to lead the service.

On Saturday, we discussed Yitro’s advice to Moses that if he sets up the system of 70 elders and God commands him to do it, he will be able to stand and all the people will go home in peace. you. You will be able to bear up. And all these people too will go home unwearied. We discussed both parts of the verse. First, why did Yitro tell Moses to check with God? Was it because he thought Moses might not follow his advice? And what did it mean for the people to return in peace? Was it that they would trust the decisions more? Was it that they would wait less time? Was it that they were arguing at home while waiting for a decision from Moses? What do you think? Here is a link to the Source Sheet.
