Shabbat Shalom!

Torah Question of the Week: Do you think leaders should apply the same rules to themselves and their families? Or should they experience fewer hardships because of the work they do on behalf of the community? In this week’s Torah portion, during the extreme famine in Egypt, Joseph requires the Egyptians to sell everything they own – including themselves – for the food he provides to them, but he takes care of his own family and does not require the same of them. How should scarce resources be allocated? Should certain people receive special privileges above others?
