Community Vigil in Solidarity with Israel

Posted on October 10, 2023

Dear TBAY Members and friends,

Much has happened since I wrote you on Saturday evening. (See the email here: https://conta.cc/46NRVEt) The news, the stories and the photos and videos coming out of Israel keep getting worse and worse. None of us is unaffected; we are all one-, two- and three-degrees of separation from someone who has personally suffered the loss or injury or kidnapping of a loved one. Kol Yisrael arevim zeh bazeh. All Israel are responsible for one another. We all share this unspeakable pain.

When crisis strikes, we Jews come together. As a community, we will hold a vigil tomorrow night, Wednesday, 10/11, at 7:45 p.m. at TBAY to pray for those fallen and injured, and to pray for a swift end to this war, with minimal bloodshed. Please join us to stand with Israel against this great evil and this great hatred. Our Interfaith friends and colleagues will be joining us as well.

To attend in person, registration is required. Please register here: https://tinyurl.com/Community-Vigil-for-Israel . To attend online on Zoom, please use the link in your email or call the office.

May the One who creates peace in the high heavens grant peace to us, to all Israel and to all of humanity.

— Rabbi Rubin
