Shabbat Shalom: D’varim

Shabbat Shalom!

Shabbat Greetings:

Torah Question of the Week: When someone tells you a story, what background information do you need to understand the rest of what the person is telling you? The book of D’varim, which we begin this week, tells the story of the Israelites’ journey through the desert through the eyes of Moses. He begins with the end, though – the story of the Israelites refusing to go into the land of Israel and their subsequent battles and travels in that area. Then, he goes back to the giving of the Torah at Sinai. Do you think it helps to know the end of the story first?

Please join us for Shabbat Services this week! We have our annual Community Campsite Shabbat at the JCC in Scotch Plains. The BYO Dinner starts at 6:00 p.m. and the service starts at 6:45 p.m.  If you are coming in person, please register here:
