Shabbat Shalom!

Torah Question of the Week: Do you believe God plays a role in your relationship with your parents? How about in your relationship with your children, if you have them? In this week’s Torah portion, the Ten Commandments (technically the “Ten Statements – Aseret HaDibb’rot”) are often divided in half, with the first five being spiritual edicts – between a person and God – and the second five being ethical commandments – among people themselves. The 5th Commandment – to honor our parents – falls in the spiritual column, but could easily be thought to be in the second. Where does it fall for you? If this is a commandment between us and God, what implications does that have for how we enact it?

Tonight’s Kabbalat Shabbat service is at 8:00 p.m. and tomorrow’s Shabbat morning service is at 9:30 a.m. Both services are multi-access: in person and on Zoom.  To register to come in person, please go to https://tinyurl.com/TBAY-Shabbat. The Zoom links can be found in the Shabbat Preview. Shabbat Shalom!
