Shalom TBAY!
Wondering what we discussed this past Shabbat? Here is a link to Friday Night’s D’Var Torah: Knowing One Another: Finding a Solution to Hatred.
On Saturday, we discussed Yitro’s observation of Moses trying to answer all the concerns of everyone in the community: “What you are doing is not right.” What was it that was not right about it? That Moses would get tired and eventually not be able to do the work at all? Or that the people would start shouting to gain his attention and they would not be able to be heard over one another? Or perhaps, it was deeper – that Moses needed to realize that he was not the center of their Universe, much as a child has to learn this. Was it that Moses needed to delegate responsibility so that everyone would have ownership of their future? What do you think? Here is a link to the Source Sheet.
