Shalom TBAY!
Wondering what we discussed this past Shabbat? Here is a link to Friday Night’s D’Var Torah: Insulting Parents Can Be a Good Thing.
At the end of this D’var Torah, I shared some important phone numbers and I don’t want you to have to click through to find them. If you or someone you know is struggling and may be considering self-harm, please shar with them these important hotlines. And if they are in immediate danger please do not hesitate to call 911. On Saturday, we discussed the punishment for having an ox that gores. We considered what it meant that an ox was in the habit of goring – at what point is someone personally responsible for their animal. What if it is an animal that has the potential to be dangerous, not one that has already shown itself to be dangerous. And what does it mean for modern society? Should a corporation or a government be held responsible when it does something that is dangerous, like damaging the environment or selling drugs like Oxycodone? What do you think? Here is a link to the Source Sheet.
