Shabbat Shalom: Sh’lach L’Cha

Shabbat Shalom!

Shabbat Greetings:

Torah Question of the Week: Have you ever seen something with a friend and been absolutely sure you saw exactly what had happened, only to find out that your friend saw it completely differently? Or perhaps you are looking at a set of numbers and you and a friend find that you are interpreting the same data in opposite ways? In this week’s Torah portion 12 men go to scout out the land of Canaan. Ten of them come back saying there is no way the Israelites can take the land. Two of them – Joshua and Caleb – come back saying they can. Without God telling us who is right and who is wrong (in this case, of course, it was Caleb and Joshua!), we have to figure it out for ourselves. What do you do when you are faced with a situation like this?

Shabbat Alive! will be tonight at 6:30 p.m. and Shabbat morning services will be tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. I hope we will see you at one or the other or both!

Shabbat Shalom!
