Shabbat Shalom!

Mazal Tov to Talya Brooks and her family on the occasion of her Bat Mitzvah!

Shabbat Greetings:

Torah Question of the Week: Do you trust expert opinions? Under what circumstances? In this week’s Torah portion, we learn that the Kohanim diagnose whether someone has tzara’at, a skin disease marked by discoloration (often translated inaccurately as leprosy). The Israelites trusted the Kohanim implicitly to make these diagnoses and to set forth the steps that needed to be taken to prevent the spread of the disease. Right now, people are divided on which experts to trust – and whether to trust experts at all. What does it take for you to trust an expert?

Kabbalat Shabbat will be tonight at 8:00 p.m. and Talya will be leading most of the service. Shabbat morning services will be tomorrow at 9:30 a.m., when we will call Talya to the Torah as a Bat Mitzvah. I hope we will see you this weekend!

Shabbat Shalom!
