Shabbat Shalom!

Shabbat Greetings:

Torah Question of the Week: Have you ever been so excited about something that you couldn’t wait for it to happen? Did you count down the days? In this week’s portion, we learn about marking the time between the opening harvest offering of a sheaf of barley and the first fruits offering of new grain and two loaves of leavened bread (along with burnt offerings, sin offerings and offerings of well-being). We count up (not down!) the Omer those seven weeks each evening in anticipation of the coming festival, often using this as a time to also engage in reflection and study. How does counting up to something change how you think of it? What can you do to make counting up to an event more meaningful?

Kabbalat Shabbat will be on Friday at 8:00 p.m. and Shabbat morning services will be tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. I hope we will see you at one or the other or both!

Shabbat Shalom!
