What We Discussed: Bo

Shalom TBAY!

Wondering what we discussed this past Shabbat? Here is a link to Friday night’s D’var Torah on Bo: “God’s Torah in Our Mouths”. This D’var Torah is in honor of Debbie Friedman z’’l. For those of you who weren’t able to attend the service but would like to hear the Debbie Friedman music we sang, you can see the video here.

On Shabbat morning, we discussed the dough in the bowls of the Israelites that was not leavened. You can find the Source Sheet here. Some questions we considered were: Why were the Israelites carrying the dough on their shoulders? Was it because the animals were already loaded with clothes? With other loot?

Or was it because they wanted to fulfill God’s word/instruction? Or because they wanted to APPEAR that they were showing love for God’s command? And then, why did they carry it in bowls? (No Saran Wrap back then!) And why was it covered with their cloaks and not a regular cloth?

Shavua Tov!
