Shabbat Greetings:
Torah Question of the Week: Have you ever done that you regret and wanted to make an offering of peace to the person you wronged? How do you do this in a way such that the gift is received? In this Torah portion Jacob sends messengers of peace with gifts to his brother Esau in an effort to begin a reconciliation. Have you found that sending an “I’m sorry” gift or message in advance has the result of softening someone’s response?
I hope we will see you at Shabbat Alive services tonight (6:30 p.m.), when we will have a special naming ceremony for our gimmel (3rd grade) class, or at Shabbat morning services tomorrow (9:30 a.m.) or both!
