Wondering what we discussed this past Shabbat? Here are links to Friday’s D’var Torah on Parashat Matot-Masei and Saturday’s Source Sheet for our study of dispossessing the inhabitants of the land of Canaan & destroying their idols.. After reviewing the source sheet, we discussed the challenge this text presents us as 21st Century American Jews. We peacefully co-exist with many other religions around us, something that was clearly inconceivable to the ancient Israelites. How would we want to see this commandment be issued? Would we change it?
